What is in the name, Elvive?

The name Elvive evokes qualities of confidence, charisma, and kindness. At Elvive Psychological Services, our focus is on revitalizing minds to help individuals build better lives. We accomplish this by cultivating an empowering environment where every person feels truly heard and seen.

Why seek Psychotherapy Services?

Psychotherapy is a valuable wellness service that involves collaborating with a mental health professional to foster personal growth and well-being. It serves to embark on a transformative journey towards becoming healthier individuals.

What forms do I need to complete to get started?

One important form in the therapy process is the Informed Consent document, which you will sign to indicate your agreement to engage in therapy. The Informed Consent form ensures that you have a clear understanding of the therapeutic process, including the rights and responsibilities of both you and your therapist.

This document usually includes the following information:

  • Policies, including guidelines on cancellations and no-shows.
  • Information about fees and payment arrangements.
  • The limits of confidentiality and when information may be shared.
  • Explanation of patient rights and what you can expect during therapy.
  • An overview of the potential risks and benefits associated with therapy.

What to expect from a therapist?

You can expect your therapist to have a minimum of a master’s level education and extensive clinical/counseling training, ensuring their expertise in identifying and treating mental health conditions. They will approach your story with a non-judgmental attitude, striving to understand your unique experiences. Furthermore, they will create a professional and welcoming space that nurtures open and easy communication.

What happens during the first session?

During this initial meeting, the therapist takes the opportunity to gather your psychosocial history, which includes important information about your background, experiences, and current circumstances. This helps the therapist gain a comprehensive understanding of your unique situation.

Additionally, the session allows to assess if the therapist is a good match for your specific needs, and discuss your goals and aspirations for therapy.

How long is an episode of care in psychotherapy?

While therapists may provide clinical recommendations regarding the frequency and duration of therapy, clients have the ultimate authority in making decisions about the length of their therapeutic journey.

It is important to consider your personal goals, progress, and readiness for the next steps when determining the duration of therapy.

Our counselors are experienced in offering a range of therapeutic approaches tailored to your specific needs including brief (12 sessions) to deeper internal ruptures.

Our standard practice involves scheduling weekly sessions that typically last between 45 to 55 minutes. We understand the importance of time and strive to optimize each session to ensure maximum benefit for our clients.
